Following an election day with a robust turnout, with 177 ballots cast, the issue remains undecided. Each candidate produced a respectable showing after a hard-fought campaign. The initial count places Jackson and Ernsberger in a dead heat for the presidency, with Carver trailing behind. Due to the tie, an automatic recount has been triggered. A handful of votes were rejected due to multiple selections, with two ballots showing write-in candidates.

KEY VALUES
PLATFORM ISSUES
Homeland Security
We believe in having an increased military security presence inside the U.S. to respond to threats to the lives of Americans. Gun Control We seek relaxed restrictions on gun ownership, and encourage more gun ownership among citizens for a safer, more secure America. Immigration We believe that those who have entered the country illegally should be deported to their countries of origin, and that we need to tighten border security. Abortion We oppose abortion, and seek to focus our efforts on de-funding services that provide it. Ultimately, we seek to eliminate the practice of abortion entirely from our nation. Government Reform We believe that elections should be fair, and seek to crack down on voter fraud. Additionally, we want to cut back on government spending - including a reduction in tax dollars spent on paying elected officials. War & Peace We believe that our country needs a strong military to deter outside threats, to be used only when it is in our vital national interest. When the need arises, we believe that the U.S. should work closely with its allies to resolve military crises. |
KEY VALUES
PLATFORM ISSUES
Abortion
We oppose abortion, with the ultimate, eventual goal of eliminating this tragedy nationwide. Drugs The nation's current drug laws are in need of reform. We seek to develop more effective ways of handling minor drug offenses, and greater support for recovering addicts. Crime We believe that crime is a serious problem, and that a more active police presence is necessary, working together with stronger community anti-crime efforts. Gun Control We want to see fewer restrictions on gun ownership, better enforcement of current gun laws, and more guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens to promote safety. Jobs The people of this country need more and better-paying jobs. We therefore seek to lower taxes and reduce regulations on business to encourage economic growth. Education We believe that higher education should be made more affordable, and that primary and secondary educators should receive higher pay. In addition, we believe that parents should have more choice in where to send their children to school. |
